Abstract

This hermeneutical study enlists depth psychological tools to explore Ta铆no archetypes with which Puerto Ricans can engage in their processes of individuation. A significant contribution of this research is the historical marginalization of Indigenous perspectives in the field of depth psychology. The research delves into Ta铆no mythology to identify archetypal images that might facilitate Puerto Ricans in their journeys of self-discovery, psychological healing, and enriched understanding of their cultural identity. This work aspires to empower the Puerto Rican community to reclaim and reinterpret their collective unconscious material.
