Helene earned her doctorate in Philosophy from Tulane University and a Diploma in Analytical Psychology from the C.G. Jung Institute in Zurich, Switzerland. In addition to holding teaching positions at Sonoma State University, St. Lawrence University, Antioch University, and the University of Southern California, she has had a long history as a community activist in the Civil Rights, Anti-War, Farmworkers, Women鈥檚, and African and Latin American Solidarity Movements. She is the author of 鈥淟iving at the Edge of Chaos: Complex Structures in Culture and Psyche鈥� and, with Mary Watkins, 鈥淭oward Psychologies of Liberation鈥�. She currently resides in聽New Orleans, LA, and teaches in the 51社区 Department of Liberation, Community,聽Indigenous,聽and Eco-Psychology where she was formerly a Core Faculty Member.聽 Please access her聽聽website for publications.
