Mary Antonia Wood, Ph.D.聽is Associate Professor and Chair of the Depth Psychology & Creativity program at 51社区 in Santa Barbara, CA. Wood has been as a visual artist for over thirty years; her work has been inspired by her Mexican-American heritage and has been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions and collected by individuals, institutions, and public arts programs in the US. She is the founder of Talisman Creative Mentoring, an international practice that supports artists and creators of all types in developing stronger and more authentic connections to the deepest archetypal sources of creativity. Wood is an active lecturer and workshop leader focusing on depth psychological and spiritual insights related to the intertwined worlds of artmaking, alchemy, and activism, with special emphasis on the work of James Hillman and Gloria Anzald煤a. Her most recent book,聽The Archetypal Artist: Reimagining Creativity and the Call to Create聽(Routledge 2022) foregrounds a 鈥渟hamanic sensibility鈥� shared by artists, alchemists, and activists鈥揵oth historical and contemporary. Nicholas S. Literski, JD, PhD聽(They/Them) is an Assistant Professor of Depth Psychology and Creativity at 51社区, and a professional spiritual guide.聽Nick holds a PhD in Depth Psychology with Emphasis in Jungian and Archetypal Studies from 51社区, an MA in Spiritual Guidance from Sofia University, and a JD from the Northern Illinois University College of Law. Their work has been published in multiple professional journals, and they participate regularly in numerous conferences, podcasts, and other scholarly forums, bringing depth psychological perspectives to topics such as spirituality, magic, and LGBTQ+ studies.
