To the Pacifica Community:
Pacifica鈥檚 Board of Trustees and Executive Leadership Team invite the larger Pacifica community to attend the Board鈥檚 upcoming general session on Friday, August 23, 2024. Opening Board meetings for the larger community is an exciting first for Pacifica, providing an opportunity to demonstrate transparency in Board and institutional matters, practice shared governance, and enhance awareness of Pacifica鈥檚 reporting and planning.
The general session will begin at approximately 9:00 AM PT and conclude at 12:00 PM PT.聽 Those wishing to attend will join via Zoom Webinar and must register in advance.聽 Below is the registration link, along with some important notes about the webinar format.

Important notes related to the Board鈥檚 General Session and webinar:
- Audience Participation: Community members attending will be in listen/view-only mode, with no camera or microphone access.
- Q&A Feature: The Q&A feature will be available for those wishing to submit questions.聽 Please note that questions will not be answered during the meeting and there will be no audience chat or engagement.聽 The Board will review the questions and provide responses after the meeting. This is approach allows the Board to complete its planned agenda within the allotted time while still providing a mechanism for questions.
- Presenters: Board members, Executive Leadership Team, staff and faculty representatives, and student presenters (from the DJA specialization) will be visible during their portions of the meeting. Topics will include:

Introduction of our new Provost (Dr. Gordon, Board Chair)
State of Pacifica (Dr. Lee, President & CEO)
Institutional Updates (Dr. Lee)
Student Enrollment (Dr. Rica Toribio, VP, Strategic Enrollment & Student Success)
Consultant Presentation on Faculty Omnibus Resolutions (Nick Sabatino, Chief of Staff; Faculty Representatives; Stevens Strategy)
Journey Week (Loralee Scott, Sr. Dir of Pacifica Extension & International Studies)
- Future Engagement: We acknowledge the compelling desire for deeper engagement between the Board, administration, and our student body. In response, we will soon unveil an initiative that thoughtfully addresses and fulfills this request.
